Change the heart, change within

Whakarerekētia te manawa, whakarerekētia te wairua

Our Vision: Zero Māori In Prison

TE IHU WAKA

Te Ihu Waka is a culturally-responsive programme for people in Corrections’ care who identify as Māori and non-Māori who identify with the Tikanga principles that underpin Māori culture. The programme is designed to motivate participants to fully engage in rehabilitation programmes by supporting them to understand their cultural identity and encouraging them to embody the kaupapa and tikanga of their tipuna.

TOHUTOHU MAHI

Mahi Tahi’s support extends both inside and outside the wire. We work with participants to provide wraparound support and mentoring. Whatever a participant’s aspirations, we are there to assist them in their professional development, in enriching their relationships with whānau, in establishing financial independence for themselves. This mentoring is tailored to the needs and goals of the individual.

ĀRAITANGA

To ensure the best possible outcomes for our participants, we partner with iwi across Aotearoa.
